Battery Ignition System
Hello readers, welcome to all of you in another new post, do you know? What is a battery ignition system? And what role does it play in vehicles? In today’s changing technology, many types of technology are used in vehicles in which some electrical changes take place and
Apart from this, at present, electric vehicles are also used in large numbers. In which the battery is used for power supply.
In this post, we will know what is Battery Ignition System. And how does it work? So without delay, let us know what is the battery ignition system. And how does it work?

what is battery ignition system?
You all must be well aware of the role of a battery in a motor vehicle. Whether there is an ignition system in the vehicle or the headlights are to be lit and the battery is used for all functions like the horn.
A spark plug is used to ignite the fuel in a petrol engine. Which gets current from the battery. The main source of electricity in a vehicle is the battery.
Most of the 6V and 12V batteries are used in vehicles. Also, the ignition coil is used to convert the low-tension current into high tension current in the battery.
And C.B point is used. Apart from this, many parts are used in the battery. Let’s know. What parts are used in the battery ignition system?
ignition coil
spark plug
distributor
battery
low tension lead
high tension lead
working of the battery ignition systemÂ
In this type of system, the negative terminal of the battery has earth. And a wire from the positive terminal goes to the ignition switch. A wire from the ignition switch is connected to the flame tension terminal of the ignition coil.
And a wire from its other flame terminal is connected through the distributor terminal to the fixed arm of the C.B point. When the ignition switch is turned on.
So the low tension current of the battery goes through these wires and means through them when the unstable arm of the C.B point is found. And this circuit is called the primary circuit.
is accomplished. There are two windings in the ignition coil. Primary and Secondary Winding This battery’s current creates magnetic force rays in the primary winding.
When the distributor shaft rotates, the C.B points are opened by its cam. When they open, the primary circuit breaks. Due to this, a current of about 250V is generated in the primary circuit.
Due to this current, very soon a current of 2000V is formed in the secondary winding. At this point, a condenser is used to protect the C.B point.
The high-tension current of 2000V passes from the high-tension terminal of the ignition coil through the high-tension plug to the middle of the distributor. This current is received by the rotor fitted in the distributor.
After that, this rotor rotates and gives alternating current to the segments fitted in the distributor cap. The high-tension plug current from the segments is transmitted to the spark plugs. Spark plugs make sense with the engine.
Due to this the circuit of high-tension current is completed. And a spark is generated. This is called the working method of the ignition system.
What is an ignition coil?
The ignition coil plays a major role in the battery. It converts the low-tension current of the battery into high tension current. With this, only the current of 6V or 12V of the battery can be increased up to 2000V.
In this ignition coil, there is a winding of copper wires on an iron core. These windings are of two types. Primary and Secondary Winding The primary winding is located below the thick copper wires and on the same core.
And it has fewer wraps. Just above this is the secondary winding. In which there are more wraps of thin wire. Along with this, the primary winding is connected to the C.B point of the battery and distributor.
For these, two low-tension terminals are maintained on the ignition coil. In which a part of the secondary winding is connected to the primary winding. And the other end is connected to the high-tension terminal of the ignition coil
It is immersed in oil in a sealed container on both windings. Due to this, they are kept cool. Some coils also use a blaster resistance which helps in controlling the high tension current of the secondary winding.
Negative and positive marks are made on the flame tension terminals in the ignition coil. And according to this, the wires of the distributor are connected. Vehicles in which the negative terminal earth remains in the battery.
In them, the wire of the distributor is connected to the negative of the coil. And the vehicles in which the battery has a positive meaning. In them, the distributor is connected to the positive terminal.
The reason for this is that if this is not done, a low-voltage circuit is obtained. And the age of the coil also decreases.
